Intermediate level?

Break through the "Intermediate Plateau" (A2-B1) with the Context Learning method. Enjoy classic French stories adapted for your level.

Are you starting your French language journey?

  • You have kept your Duolingo streak alive.

  • You have memorized lists of vocabulary.

  • You even understand the basic grammar rules.

But when you try to actually read a French text, it doesn't make sense.

That is because "knowing words" is not the same as understanding a language. To bridge the gap between an app and the real world, you don't need more drills—you need Comprehensible Input.

Our method exposes you to French that is slightly above your current level but still easy to follow. This allows your brain to absorb patterns and sentence structures naturally, turning isolated words into real reading fluency.

Are you stuck in the "Intermediate Trap"?

You have completed the apps. You know your grammar rules. You can order a coffee in Paris.

But when you try to read a real French novel, you hit a wall.

  • The vocabulary is too obscure.

  • The grammar is too literary.

  • You spend more time looking up words than reading the story.

This is the Intermediate Plateau. It is where most learners quit. You don’t need more flashcards. You need Input.

Master French with the "Français Facile" Series

  • Classic literature is filled with archaic grammar and vocabulary that native speakers rarely use in daily life.

  • This is why you get stuck.

  • We modernize the text so you can enjoy the story and learn useful French simultaneously.

Bonjour, I am Pierre Lefranc

For the last 15 years, I have taught French to hundreds of English speakers, from university students to diplomats.

I noticed a frustrating pattern in my classroom. My students would master the grammar rules and pass their exams. But when I handed them a real French novel, they would panic. They would spend 10 minutes decoding a single page, only to give up because the vocabulary was too "literary" or "old-fashioned."

I created the Français Facile series to fix this. I wanted to give my students books that made them feel smart, not frustrated. My goal is to help you bridge the gap between "textbook French" and the real language.

When I am not adapting novels or correcting grammar, you can find me living the daily life of a Parisian.

I live in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. My weekends are usually spent hunting for old paperbacks in the bouquinistes stalls along the Seine, complaining about the Metro, or enjoying a café noisette on a terrace while watching the tourists go by.

I wrote these books so you can one day join me here, order your own coffee with confidence, and read the classics without a dictionary.

À bientôt,
Pierre
